Fuel-Water Emulsion as an Alternative Fuel for Gas Turbines in the Context of Combustion Process Properties—A Review

Fuel with the addition of water, forming fuel-water emulsions, is a potential way to reduce emission pollutants from gas turbines powered by any liquid fuel. This article analyzes available work on combustion emulsions in turbines. The literature analysis was preceded theoretical introduction emulsion, taking into account factors influencing its micro- and macroscopic properties. basic features agents used stabilize emulsion were also discussed process described. analyzed research differed terms test stands which experiments conducted, fuel constituting continuous phase amount water contained mixture method producing emulsion.
